Andy Phillips is the Executive Director/Head of School of Logos Academy/New City School. Andy started the school in 2014 after having served over 30 years as a Presbyterian pastor and church-planting mentor. Understanding the pressing need in Harrisburg for an accessible kindergarten readiness program, Andy proposed that New City School launch in September of 2016 as a free preschool. That first year, nine students participated in the program. With the addition of first grade in August, 2019, we anticipate enrollment to exceed 50 students. Andy and his wife, Linda, enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
Liz Barna is our co-founder and Principal. Liz brings a unique set of skills to her role. She earned a BFA in Studio Art and served as an art teacher, but it was homeschooling her own children in the Classical method that truly prepared her for this role. As the mother of unique learners, Liz spent years learning how to adapt curriculum to fit their needs. She became convinced that multi-sensory, compassion-informed education would not only meet her own children’s needs, but all children’s needs. Liz jumped at the chance to be a part of a school that could bring this amazing, multi-faceted approach to the children of Harrisburg!
